Internship 5 - Whirlpool - 3 Months
Advanced Design Team
Unfortunately, all of the work I had a hand in at this position is confidential.
The Advanced team is Whirlpool's design vision team that works 3 - 10 years into the future. The Advanced team is the only team that operates across all of Whirlpool's brands and categories, and I worked on projects that were pitched immediately to the Board of Directors as well as all of Whirlpool's design directors.
Here, I worked with a team and built skills to use socio-macro trends to create designs to change the culture and future path of a fortune 200 company.
Whirlpool is the world's largest appliance company with over 97,000 employees. Whirlpool has many different teams of Industrial Designers with each group tasked to design within a specific category like cooking, refrigeration, laundry, dish washing, and more. Whirlpool also has teams of Industrial Designers to work within specific brands like #KitchenAid #Maytag #Whirlpool #JennAir and many more.
I was very fortunate to work and build teams with designers and engineers from all over the world with different contexts, and I got to design for everyone from ultra wealthy people to people who can't afford clean drinking water.
The video shown below is the Advanced team's most recent release. This video was completed just before I started my internship. After this video was released, I designed for this brand as well as Kitchen Aid, Maytag, and Whirlpool.
Sketches
Whirlpool gave me full permission to show this sketch progression, because I "worked my ass off every day."

Internship 4 - Boschwerks - 6 Months
Fuzion Scooters: Project 1
I worked strictly as "the render guy." I was tasked to create imagery to sell Fuzion's scooters on Amazon and to create renderings for Fuzion's Instragram.

Baseball Helmet: Project 2
The main project I worked on is a confidential helmet being produced for one of the two biggest brands in baseball.
I worked as a team of two designers in collaboration with one former professional baseball player.

Internship 3 - Great Northern Corporation - 8 Months
Point of Purchasing
Working in the P.O.P. industry early in my career helped me understand how to make products for different VBL's fast, sometimes up to 4 projects per week. Here, I learned how design impacts sales. I learned the branching impacts of my decisions; in the 8 months I interned at GNC, I watched many of my concepts go from pencil sketch to shipping all across the country. We worked as a team of 8 designers, and at the end of the 8 months I took the lead role on small projects.

Internships 1 & 2 - Zalk Joseph's Fabricators - 8 Months
Engineering
Zalk Joseph's Fabricator's was an engineering focused internship; I learned how to deal with high financial pressure, interact with engineers, and how to behave in an office setting. It was my job to estimate the cost of steel preparation for large budget buildings with our smallest job starting at 13 million dollars worth of steel and labor. I worked as team member to estimate large jobs like the Milwaukee Bucks stadium, and I worked as an individual estimator for smaller jobs like the McCormick Center hotel in Chicago. Zalk Joseph's took me on because I was a 4.0 student.
Interior Design - Francesca Signori - Contractual
The Eataly
I worked as a member of a four person team with designers from Italy, New York, and RISD to design and install the interior decorations of The Eataly grocery store and restaurant in downtown Chicago. We worked seasonally across 2017 to make the visceral shopping experience at the Eataly a better experience.
